Baptist Health College Little Rock offers nine different programs of study and a ton of flexibility so that you can learn what you want, when you want. Baptist Health also has a Nurse Residency program for graduate nurses to help them ramp up to competency in their nursing career. We also offer plenty of classes on health and wellness that all our employees are welcome to attend. At Baptist Health, growth is our goal and we want you to be a part of it.

Baptist Health College Little Rock: 8 Progams of Study

We offer one-year certificate programs, a two-year associate degree, and a number of baccalaureate degree programs in affiliation with partnering colleges and universities.

Surgical Technology


Surgical technologists work under the supervision of a surgeon or registered nurse, and anticipate the needs of the surgeon utilize surgical equipment and provide for the needs of the patient and surgical team.

Radiography


Radiographers are medical professionals who perform diagnostic x-ray examinations using ionizing radiation and assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease.


Registered Nursing


Registered nurses provide and direct others in the provision of nursing care to patients in acute care settings and a variety of other healthcare agencies. The Accelerated Track is an option for Paramedics and LPN/LPTNs who wish to become a registered nurse.


Practical Nursing


Under the supervision of a registered nurse, a licensed practical nurse provides direct patient bedside care such as personal hygiene, treatments, and medication administration.

Sleep Technology


Sleep technologists are medical professionals responsible for patient care and outpatient procedures associated with the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders.


Medical Laboratory Science


Medical Technologists perform tests on blood and body fluids to determine the presence or absence of disease, monitor response to treatment, and aid in health maintenance.

Nuclear Medicine Technology


Nuclear Medicine Technologists utilize small amounts of radioactive pharmaceuticals for diagnosing and treating various diseases.

Occupational Therapy Assistant


Occupational Therapy Assistants help clients of all ages learn or regain the skills required to function as independently as possible with self care, work, play and leisure activities.

Registered Nurse Residency Program

All new graduate RNs hired into Baptist Health will automatically be enrolled into the residency program. The Baptist Health RN Residency is designed to provide educational development opportunities to equip the new graduate Registered Nurse with the knowledge and skill needed to smoothly transition to practice. Our goal is to develop highly competent, emotionally healthy, engaged employees who practice professional nursing at its highest level and are committed to excellence and life-long learning.

Purpose

Courses are designed to enhance the learning that occurs during the preceptor-based orientation period and throughout the first year on the clinical unit.

Teaching Philosophy

Our curriculum, unlike other residency programs, includes hands-on, interactive, clinically-focused learning experiences to help the RN achieve clinical competency.

We will assist Residents with creating a professional portfolio to utilize throughout their nursing career at Baptist Health and beyond.

Content

Residency sessions are made up of the R100’s, which include Clinical Concepts, along with the R200’s, which consist of Professional Practice & Healthy Work Environment Concepts.

Course Structure

12 4-Hour Sessions each offered quarterly. 2 Sessions are paired together each offering, allowing the option of attending morning, afternoon, or all day.

The resident is required to attend all 12 sessions within 12 months.

Self-Scheduling

Flexible scheduling allows autonomy and flexibility as to how the resident chooses to complete the program, shaping their classes around their life and not the other way around.
